If you have an earlier Unibios, then you need to specify the version exactly in Core Options. Welcome to the official subreddit of the PC Master Race / PCMR All PC-related content is welcome, including build help, tech support, and any doubt one might have about PC ownership. So, it seems if you have the latest Unibios that FBA supports, then it loads automatically. I picked Universe BIOS ver 1.0 and reset the emulator, and then the Unibios 1.0 screen came up. However, I went into the RetroArch RGUI Core Options and saw there is an setting to exactly specify a BIOS version. Starting a game in Unibios mode didn't pick up the Unibios. I used my earlier theory and kept only one MVS BIOS and a really old Universe BIOS. I'm going to assume the first three are required no matter what. Luckily, I don't have to remap too many controllers for the games I play. It doesn't always work properly, and nobody seems to understand why. I created a "slim" neogeo.zip with only the following contents from a verified FBA 0.2.97.38 ROM: sm1.sm1 # Z80 BIOSĪsia-s3.rom # MVS Asia/Europe ver. IDK, I absolutely hate their remapping feature. I got curious and had more of a play with this. I had never tried this before but just set it all up and it worked fine for me. Note that Start+Coin/Select quits the emulator in the default RetroPie config, so don't use that combo to enter the in-game menu, you'll quit the emulator instead. The MSX updates are still ongoing: this version supports MSX-DOS2 and RAM expansions. Press RetroPad Start+Y+A+B (Neo-Geo Start+A+B+C) to get into the in-game menu. Use the Unibios as described on the Unibios page: įor example, reset and hold RetroPad buttons Y+A+B (which are the Neo-Geo A+B+C) to get into the Unibios menu. You should see the Unibios screen before the Neo-Geo logo. Now select Restart Content then Resume Content. Press Select+B to go into the RetroArch RGUI, go into Core Options, and select BIOS as UNIBIOS. There is at least one working download out there. If your BIOS does not pass verification because the files are the wrong name, wrong crc, or you're missing files, then keep hunting for a working BIOS. Verify the BIOS file using the lr-fba-next DAT file from. Nowhere else matters, like not the /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS directory like is required for GBA or PSX. You need to have the neogeo.zip BIOS file (all lowercase) in the same directory as the ROMs, use either the fba or neogeo folder.
